Which Pass Should I Get?

Kokopelli Pass: Fri-Sun admission to the main ballroom for all activities, INCLUDING the Saturday night show.  Includes all social dancing at night.  Includes ALL of the workshops Friday – Sunday.   Does not include the Thursday night Welcome Dance.


Palm Pass:  Fri-Sun admission to the main ballroom for all activities, EXCEPT the Saturday night Dinner Show and the Thursday night Welcome Dance.  Includes all social dancing at night.  Includes ALL of the workshops Friday – Sunday.


General Pass: Fri-Sun admission to the main ballroom for all activities, EXCEPT the Saturday night show and the Thursday night Welcome Dance.  Includes all social dancing at night.  Includes 2-3 beginner level workshops each day, Friday - Sunday, these will be labeled “free workshop”.  All other workshops are $15 with the General Pass.  All UCWDC Competitors must purchase at least the General Pass.


Day Pass (Friday, Saturday or Sunday): Admission to the main ballroom for all activities including social dancing at night.  Includes any workshops labled "free workshop".  All other workshops are $15 with the Day Pass.  Does not include Saturday night Dinner Show.

Is the Thursday night Welcome Dance included in any of the passes?

The Thursday night Welcome Dance is a separate admission.  It is $20, which includes the lesson and the dance, and can be purchased online or at the door.

Can I come and watch the competitions?

Spectator passes are for anyone who wants to come just to watch the competitions.  Spectator passes include entrance into the ballroom for one day session (Friday, Saturday or Sunday), and they are $20 for each day.  You may purchase them online or at the door.  Spectator passes do not include the night time social dancing.

Can I just go to the Dinner Show?

Yes!  You may buy Dinner Show tickets for $80 before March 15th or $85 after March 15th.   The ticket includes a reserved seat at a table, sit-down dinner, Variety Show, and open dancing after the show.  You may purchase Dinner Show tickets online at www.tucsondancefestival.com.  Dinner show tickets are not available at the door.

I am only competing in Jack & Jills on Friday night, which pass will I need?

You will need to purchase at least an evening pass for Friday evening in order to compete in the Jack and Jills.  Any 3-Day pass, a one-day pass or a Friday evening pass will allow you to compete in the Jack & Jill competitions on Friday evening.  Passes may be purchased online or at the door.

Will there be Social Dancing at the Tucson Dance Festival?

Yes!  We will have a dedicated Social Dance ballroom on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.  An Evening Social dance pass is $20 and can be purchased online or at the door.  Friday and Saturday evening dancing is included in the Kokopelli, Palm, General and Day passes.

What about Social contests at the Tucson Dance Festival?

There will be some social (non UCWDC) contests at the Tucson Dance Festival:


Proam and Couples:  There will be Proam and Couples contests in Two-Step, Night Club Two-step, Arizona Two-Step and West Coast Swing.  No boots or hats or any costume requirements.  Divisions are Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Masters (over 50 years of age).  These contests are labeled "Strictly" on the registration form.  You pick your own partner (Professional for Proam) for these contests.


Jack and Jill:   For these contests you sign up individually, as either a leader or a follower, and you are randomly assigned a partner.  Jack and Jill contests will be held in West Coast Swing, Two-Step and Country Swing.  Levels are Novice, Intermediate and Advanced, for Country Swing and Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Masters (over 50 years of age) for Two Step and West Coast Swing.  In addition, there will be a West Coast Swing All American Jack and Jill contest for all ages and levels.
