
The Tucson Dance Festival Ballroom Competition is a one-day event, offering all styles of Ballroom Dance including American Smooth and Rhythm, International Standard and Latin, and American Rhythm Social Dances (Salsa, Merengue, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Argentine Tango and Night Club 2-Step) We offer ProAm, Amateur and Solo Stars division competitions. Competitors may purchase a weekend package, or a one-day pass to compete in the Ballroom competition.

A category of competitive ballroom dance called Solo Stars allows pre-teen, junior, and youth competitors to dance syllabus routines without a dance partner. The competitor is judged on a solo execution of their syllabus material.

The Tucson Dance Festival welcomes Collegiate dancers to compete in our Ballroom competition on April 5th!
Special Collegiate Rate: $50 for Sunday Ballroom pass, includes unlimited dance entries (must show College ID).
Categories offered: Smooth, Standard, Rhythm, Latin and Club dances.

Ivan was born and raised in Sumy, Ukraine, where he started dancing at the young age of 7. He moved to Kharkiv, Ukraine to continue his dance education and met his current dance partner Alisa Seleznova.

Alisa, originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, began dancing at the age of 6 in the dance studio located at her school. She has always been committed to ballroom dancing and has pursued her dream of becoming a professional ballroom dancer and coach.
Since partnering in 2012, Ivan and Alisa have competed in Youth and Amateur competitions across Ukraine, the UK, France, and the Netherlands. They have made it to the Semi-Finals in the U21 Category at the Blackpool Dance Festival twice at the International Championship in London and were Semi-Finalists at WDC AL European Championships in Blackpool, England. In 2019, they turned Professional and began representing the United States.

Bryan Senn has been teaching International Style Standard and Latin and American Smooth and Rhythm for over 30 years. He provides coaching to professional and amateur couples and trains dance instructors all over North America. He is a Canadian Dancesport Federation member as well as a UCWDC certified judge.
Bryan's competitive career consists of winning the Rising Star divisions at: La Classique Du Quebec, San Francisco Open, Challenge of Champions and the Southwest Regional Dance Championships. For three years he was a semi-finalist in the Open Divisions and a finalist in the Rising Star Divisions of the Ohio Star Ball and the United States Dancesport Championships, which are two of North America's most prestigious competitions.
With the help of his fabulous students, Bryan also currently holds the title of Top Teacher at the Calgary Open Dancesport Competition. He has earned the Top Teacher title for three years in a row! His passion and love for dance is something that truly needs to be experienced.
